Project Items

The kinds of items available within a VBA project differ from those available in a Visual Studio project. There are basically three types of items you can add to a VBA project: user forms, modules, and class modules. You can also choose to insert an existing file into your project or add references to other assemblies.

Visual Studio offers a number of project items. You can add numerous kinds of items—such as Windows forms, bitmap files, datasets, XML files, and classes—to a project in Visual Studio, as illustrated in the Add New Item dialog box in Figure 2.16. To add a new item to your project, right-click the solution node in Solution Explorer, point to Add, and then click New Item.

In the Add New Item dialog box, you can select the desired item from the Templates list, provide a name for it, and then click Add to insert the item into your project.
