Local Local

In this model the document and the assembly are installed locally on the user's machine. This model is most similar to a standard application and is normally installed using the MSI. (Later in this chapter you will see how to deploy using an MSI.) The local/local model has the advantage of being available even if the user is offline and not connected to the network. Also, if the application is installed with an MSI, it can be repaired or uninstalled from the Add or Remove Programs tool in the Control Panel. One disadvantage of this model is that the application is more difficult to update because the document and assembly are located on the client machine, and an update requires that you update every client.
