XML Features in Access

If you need to deliver information over the World Wide Web or you want to store, share, and exchange data between different applications regardless of the operating system or programming language used, you need to become familiar with the Extensible Markup Language (XML).

Imagine these two scenarios where your combined knowledge of Access and XML will come in handy:

You have just received a file in XML format and you need to merge its data with an existing Access table, or perhaps create a new table. You have been asked to provide a data dump from your Access database in XML format.

XML is a complex language that cannot be covered within the pages of one chapter; however, this single chapter will get you started using XML with Access 2003.
