Share Level Security

Using passwords to secure the database or objects in the database is known as share-level security. When you set a password on the database, users will be required to enter a password in order to gain access to the data and database

objects. Because you cannot assign permissions to users or groups with this option, anyone with the password has unrestricted access to all Access data and database objects.

To manually change the database password, choose Tools | Security | Set Database Password. Refer to the section titled "Setting a Database Password" later in this chapter to set a database password from within a VBA program.
