To perform all the examples in this chapter, let's proceed to Hands-On 28-3, which will walk you through setting up Internet Information Services 5.0 on your computer.

1. Insert the Windows 2000 or XP Professional CD-ROM into a drive.

2. Click Start, select Settings, and click Control Panel.

3. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.

4. Click the Add/Remove Windows Components button in the left-hand panel.

5. Click the box beside Internet Information Services (IIS).

6. Click Next to start the installation.

7. When the installation is complete, click Finish to close the wizard.

Figure 28-5: After completing the Internet Information Services installation steps in Hands-On 28-3, you should see the Inetpub folder on your computer. The \Inetpub\wwwroot folder is automatically set as the home directory for IIS 5.0.
