Rules for naming variables

A variable can be given any name as long as it satisfies the following rules:

♦ Variable names must begin with a letter of the alphabet

♦ After the first letter, the name for the variable may consist of any combination of digits, alphabetic letters or underscore characters - but no other characters are permitted.

♦ A variable name cannot exceed 256 characters in length.

♦ A variable name cannot be the same as an object method, property, VB function, procedure, argument name or a VBA reserved word.
