Executing a macro from Excel

Before executing a macro for the first time, you should save anything currently open just in case the macro contains mistakes that were made during recording. The playback results may not be as expected. In the event of errors in the macro, it can be rerecorded using the same name. The steps involved in running the macro are then as follows:

From a worksheet, select Tools > Macro > Macros to see the Macro dialog box (see Figure 2.5).

Select the macro name from the list using the cursor keys, and then click on the Run button. The macro will execute one step at a time and return control to the user when complete. As you can see from the screenshot in Figure 2.6, the macro has performed the actions required.
