Internet Newsgroups

Usenet is an Internet service that provides access to several thousand special interest groups that enable you to communicate with people who share common interests. There are thousands of newsgroups covering virtually every topic that you can think of (and many that you haven't). Typically, questions posed on a newsgroup are answered within 24 hours — assuming, of course, that the questions are asked in a manner that makes others want to reply.

Besides an Internet connection, you need special newsreader software to access newsgroups. Microsoft Outlook Express (free) is a good choice. This product is part of Internet Explorer.
