The Solution

The grid corresponding to the electrical contacts contains 100 elements left to right and 60 elements going down. Because Excel supports 256 columns and 65,536 rows, both those requirements are well within Excel's capabilities.

The idea is to create the grid by entering the m/nnn numbering scheme in cells starting with cell A1. An unused connection is visually identified by a light gray font, as shown in Figure 26.1.
