Close and Delete

Submitted by Tommy Miles of Houston, TX.

A common task in Excel is to open data files, grab some information, and then close the data file, never to open it again. Over time, these temporary files build up, unless they are meticulously deleted.

This sample adds a new option to the File menu—Close & Delete (see Figure 13.1). This allows the active workbook to be closed and deleted. It also removes the filename from the list of recently opened files. Good-bye temporary files!
