Current Region A Useful Shortcut

Depending on what you need to do, the CurrentRegion property may offer a shortcut that you can use instead of determining range boundaries manually. The current region represents the group of cells bounded on all sides by empty rows and columns.

Take a look at Figure 9.10. No matter which cell you select in the range B2:D4, the address of the CurrentRegion is B2:D4. Similarly, the two other shaded ranges represent the CurrentRegion associated with any cell within the shaded area.

When applied to a list, CurrentRegion is also handy when you are trying to determine the characteristics of the list. An example of this is shown in Listing 9.5.
